Channelled art - what's that about then?

A large part of my work seems to be recieving, interpreting and painting images which come to me in the process of meditation, dreams and healing work. Some of these images are a little obscure and sometimes even I don't know their meaning, I just paint what I see.

How did it all start?

It first started during my first year of Crystal therapy training. Part of the training involves clearing out your own energy field and increasing your sensitivity and connection to your higher self and other spiritual forces. The clearer your field and the more work you do, you gradually become open to experiencing higher levels of perception. You are able to feel energy imbalances. maybe see blocks and aura and other skills like clairaudience and clairsentience become stronger.

I began seeing pictures, complete pictures which queued up in my mind and refused to go away until I'd painted them, only to be replaced by others. Each of the pictures you see in my gallery came to me as they are, with no development, preliminary sketch or adding elements along the way, what you see is what came through. Most of the time I find I can't paint the images fast enough and there are always several in progress or waiting but I really enjoy the work. Oddly enough, when it started happening, I hadn't actually painted anything since school but it seems my skills had improved mysteriously too - good job really or what you'd be looking at now would be a load of Jackson Pollocks! I just picked up a brush and it happened.

So what does it mean?

I still don't claim to be psychic, I believe everyone has a certain level of talent available if they clear their energy field enough for it to become usable. My personal feeling is that when I work on a client or meditate, I open a channel for Universal Energy to move through me and the pictures come along with it, I'm like a camera, but much slower and lower tech.

I have found that there seem to be three main types of pictures - the Blue Man images, The Goddess series and the Un-natural World as I call them.

The Blue Man

The Blue Man is a recurring theme which keeps developing. To start with he was pretty terestrial but seems to be getting more cosmic of late. I wasn't sure at first what he represented but my feeling is that he shows a soul at it's most basic level - neither male or female, with no personality or ego to get in the way, just a soul on a journey, learning the lessons we all must to progress. At the end of the day, we're all on that jourmey too.

The Un-Natural World

These pictures all show the world of nature that we should all be familiar with but with a glimpse of the magic that lurks unseen by most. It's almost as if you see it out of the corner of your eye but when you look directly at it, it's gone. This is Earth Energy, the world where Elementals, Fairies, Spirits, Gods and Godesses all work and play, expressing the energy of pure love and joy in just how breathtakingly beautiful this world of ours can be if you take the time to look. This is our world with the veil lifted, where the stones all hold ancient secrets, the land itself whispers to you, Guardians who have watched over life for thousands of years dwell and signs show in the stars. This is the world where the fairies party as soon as your back is turned!

The Goddess Series

These are a series of images and interpretations of various Goddesses, mostly Celtic at the moment. Included so far - Rhiannon, Arianrhod, Blodeuwedd, The Cailleach and Sabrina goddess of the river Severn. I'm sure there are more to come.

Other Images

There are a few pictures that don't seem to fit into either of the categories above. These tend to be the more abstract ones or which concern themselves with higher forces and these are harder to interpret.

My personal opinion is that the pictures are sent for a reason and they are to be seen and interpreted in whatever way is meaningful to you. I certainly enjoy painting them, even if they can be a bit puzzling at times.

The images you see on this site are all scanned at low resolution for the sake of your modem's health and so you don't have to wait all day for them to load.

Keep an eye on the Gallery as I am constantly adding new artwork as soon as it's finished.
